Policy Statement


Shawnee Community College (SCC) is committed to fostering an environment that upholds the highest responsibility, ethics, and equity standards. We recognize the importance of ensuring equitable access, maximizing asset value, promoting responsible use, and maintaining the safety and efficiency of our facility resources. Additionally, we are dedicated to safeguarding our physical assets and nurturing a respectful learning and working environment for all members of our community.

Responsible access to the College’s facility resources is available to all community members.  As such, we are committed to removing barriers and implementing inclusive practices that ensure equitable and safe access. Further, we expect all stakeholders to utilize college resources in ways that are responsible and ethical. By adhering to this policy all related operating standards, and widely accepted best practices, we strive to maximize facility value, promote innovation, promote sustainability, ensure compliance, and uphold the highest standards of quality related to the use of our facility assets.

To those ends, the Vice President of Administrative Services (VPAS) is directed to develop, implement, and continuously improve collaborative processes committed to upholding the principles of responsibility, ethics, and equity in all aspects of our operations. By adhering to the values outlined in this policy, we can create a supportive and inclusive environment where every community member can thrive.
