SCC VP Honored at National Conference

VP Chris Clark Holding Award

Vice President of Administrative Services Chris Clark

ULLIN, IL (October 4, 2023) – Shawnee Community College Vice President of Administrative Services Chris Clark recently attended the Community College Business Officers conference in San Diego, California.

The CCBO prepares finance and business officers for success in their professional roles within the Community College environment. Leaders across the country, from Washington to North Carolina, California to Maryland, were in attendance.

This is Chris’ second year attending the conference, and because of that, coupled with his Leadership Academy training, Chris made a presentation on Facilities Condition Assessment. It’s a project he started on in March of this year.

Chris was honored for his work with the Jim Turner Outstanding Leadership Academy Graduate Award. The Jim Turner Leadership Academy Outstanding Presentation Award recognizes the Leadership Academy graduate whose final presentation is voted the best by their Academy peers.

Chris has already been invited to present again at the 2024 conference in Savannah, Georgia. And, just like around campus, Chris earned the title ‘Glass Half Full.’

“As the leader of any organization, the most important thing you must do is build a team of highly competent and compassionate individuals with a service mindset. For those who know Chris Clark, you’ve seen his compassion through his community service activities over the last 30+ years. Although he’s been at the College for many years, he started his new role as the College’s Chief Financial Officer a few short years ago. In this role, he has shown tremendous growth and boundless potential. This award from the Community College Business Officers Association affirms on a national platform that his competence as a College Business Officer is extremely high. I am fortunate he is on my Team, and the College is proud of his accomplishments. Hopefully, the Community will take pride in the level of talent we have attracted to the College to serve our students,” said SCC President Dr. Tim Taylor.
