SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the store manager, this position is responsible for general customer service, pricing, stacking, inputting financial aid charges, general filing, and maintaining display racks.  The position will also be required to assist with other related duties as assigned by the store manager and full-time bookstore assistant. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s Degree
  • One (1) year of business/retail experience. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  1. Create and sustain a supportive College culture that engages employees, recognizes diversity, ensures equity, promotes inclusion and creates a sense of belonging by fostering an environment of teamwork, accountability, communication, and vision.
  2. Ensure all customers receive prompt, courteous attention and service.
  3. Assist in the daily inputting of financial aid charges and printing of reports.
  4. Responsible for filing of financial aid.
  5. Price and stock general merchandise.
  6. Establish merchandise displays in a timely and promotional manner to encourage retail sales.
  7. Ensure all merchandise, display racks, and spaces are maintained, cleaned, orderly, and well stocked.
  8. Processes received goods for Accounts Payable.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Crouching:  Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.

Lifting:  Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position.  Lifting items up to 20 pounds in weight on a regular basis.  Carrying light to moderately heavy materials or equipment.  Pushing, pulling, bending, lifting and carrying heavy objects up to 50 pounds in weight on an occasional basis.

Sitting for prolonged periods of time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT    

Work is primarily in a school environment.  Noise levels usually are moderate.

SALARY RANGE:  $32,000 – $35,000
