
ULLIN, IL (June 4, 2026) – The first of several Amazing S.A.I.N.T.S. camps took place this week at Shawnee Community College, bringing participants together for a summer of learning, creativity, and connection.
The Amazing S.A.I.N.T.S. program is a partnership between Shawnee Community College and Rolling in Faith, a nonprofit organization dedicated to cultivating a sense of belonging and empowering people with disabilities to flourish in their communities.
S.A.I.N.T.S. stands for Skills, Achievement, Inclusion, Networking, Training, and Success, reflecting the program’s commitment to creating meaningful educational and social experiences.
The summer series began with Music Makers, led by Shawnee Community College Music Instructor Lee VanAlstine. Participants explored music through hands-on activities and creative expression while building friendships and confidence in a welcoming environment.
“We’re excited to partner with Rolling in Faith to provide opportunities that encourage personal growth, skill development, and inclusion,” said Lindsay Johnson, Director of Workforce and Community Development at Shawnee Community College. “These camps are about creating experiences where every participant feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.”
The Amazing S.A.I.N.T.S. camps will continue throughout the summer with a variety of activities focused on learning, engagement, and community building.
The camps reflect Shawnee Community College’s ongoing commitment to serving all members of the community through accessible educational and enrichment opportunities.
Through the partnership, Shawnee Community College and Rolling in Faith are helping create opportunities for participants to discover new interests, develop skills, and connect with others in a supportive setting.
