Head Baseball Coach Matthew White
ULLIN, IL (May 30, 2025) – Shawnee Community College is proud to announce the appointment of Matthew White as the new head coach of the Saints baseball program. Coach White steps into the role following the retirement of longtime coach Ken Reichart, who dedicated years of service to the College and its student-athletes.
Coach White brings a wealth of experience and a passion for developing young talent. His coaching philosophy emphasizes not only athletic excellence but also academic achievement and personal growth. White is known for his strategic acumen and his ability to inspire players to reach their full potential both on and off the field.
“We are thrilled to have Coach White join the Shawnee family,” said Athletic Director John Sparks. “His commitment to fostering a competitive and supportive environment aligns perfectly with Shawnee’s mission. We are confident that under his leadership, the Saints baseball program will thrive.”
Coach White expressed his enthusiasm about joining Shawnee Community College:
“First and foremost, I’d like to thank Coach Sparks and the entire search committee for believing in my vision and entrusting me with this opportunity. I am incredibly excited to get to campus and to start building a culture rooted in hard work, accountability, and growth both on and off the field. I look forward to being part of the Shawnee community and helping our student-athletes reach their full potential. NJCAA baseball in Illinois, and the GRAC in particular, is incredibly strong, and our players and staff will work relentlessly to make sure the Saints are among the very best.”
The fall season begins in September. We will have updates on the roster and schedule on our website in the coming months.
