Actions from the September 2024 Shawnee Community College Board of Trustees Meeting

(Ullin, IL) September 20, 2024. The Board of Trustees of Shawnee Community College held its  regular monthly meeting on September 19, 2024, at 6:00 PM, on the main campus and via  teleconference. Agenda and Consent Agenda

The Board approved the agenda and consent agenda which included approval of Regular Board  minutes from August 15, 2024; acceptance of the treasurer’s report and personnel report; and  acceptance of the Clery Report. 

 

Dreamscapes Learn Immersive Learning

Chris Huff with Dreamscapes Learn conducted a presentation to the Board. 

 

Model Partnership Agreement (MPA)

The Board adopted the MPA framework.  

 

Board Finance Committee

The Board Finance Committee will convene to discuss tuition policy and strategies as well as the  development of long-term financial planning. 

 

Leadership Training

The Board will engage in leadership training as provided by the Steve Gavatorta Group. 

 

Compensation Study

The Board approved the lowest bid by Gallagher who will conduct a compensation study. 

 

FY25 Budget

The Board approved the FY25 Budget. 

 

Administrative/Employee Related 

The Board ratified the part-time hourly employees listed as well as the following job  fulfillments: Sophia Conley, Massac County Administrative Support Specialist (full-time); Aaron  Woods, Professional Tutor; Toby Martinez, Welding Instructor; Cameryn Curtis, HCCTP  Coordinator; and Mackenzie Scherer, Small Business Development Center Coordinator. The  Board approved a listing of open positions reflected in the FY25 budget. Current vacancies  include: Education Technology Coordinator; Human Resource Operations Specialist; Nursing  Simulation Coordinator & Student Success Coach; Small Business Development Center Advisor;  Assistant, Bookstore; Director of Education Talent Search; and Executive Assistant to  Administrative Services. The Board implemented the process for the President’s evaluation and  authorized the President to hire an interim Executive Director of Institutional Effectiveness  following prescribed protocol.
