Shawnee Community College (SCC) has been honored with the inaugural Excellence in Innovation Award for Career and Technical Education at the Illinois Community College Board’s annual Forum for Excellence event. The award recognizes outstanding achievement in the category of Career Technical and Adult Education: Building Pathways for All Students.

Shawnee Community College is proud to announce the appointment of Matthew White as the new head coach of the Saints baseball program. Coach White steps into the role following the retirement of longtime coach Ken Reichart, who dedicated years of service to the College and its student-athletes.

The Dollar General Literacy Foundation (DGLF) recently awarded Shawnee Community College a grant for $8,900 to support the Little Saints Book Club. The funds are a part of a record-setting, one-day donation in the Foundation’s history of more than $13.2 million to support adult, family, and summer literacy programs in the 48 states where Dollar General operates.

Shawnee Community College is thrilled to unveil its Summer 2025 Saints Kids Camps, offering diverse, engaging, and educational activities for youth across southern Illinois. These programs cater to children and teenagers and are designed to inspire creativity, promote physical activity, and introduce new skills.

Hundreds gathered today on the Shawnee Community College campus for the annual Job and College Transfer Fair. Employers around the region, including those in healthcare, law enforcement, sales, and agriculture, were on hand.

Shawnee Community College Career Services will host the annual SCC Job and College Transfer Fair on Wednesday, April 2, from 8:30 a.m. until noon in Edward M. Smith Gymnasium on the Main campus in Ullin.

Nearly 300 high school freshmen and sophomores from ten different high schools participated in Career and Technical Education (CTE) Day at Shawnee Community College’s main campus in Ullin.
