Program Summary

(WEL 1155) Less-Than-One-Year Certificate – Min. 7 hours

Shielded Metal Arc Welding (also known as stick welding) is used in the fabrication of steel products and components, including the construction of bridges and other large structures. The Shielded Metal Arc Welding Certificate Program provides students with the fundamentals of this manual welding process that uses a flux-covered electrode. The program can be completed in a single semester since most courses are delivered in the competency-based educational modality.
