(Ullin, IL) April 21, 2025. The Board of Trustees of Shawnee Community College held its regular monthly meeting on April 17, 2025, at 6:00 PM, on the main campus and via teleconference. Student Trustee
The Board ratified the election of Landon Stafford as the Student Trustee effective April 15, 2025. The Board recognized the service of outgoing Student Trustee Michael Deno.
Agenda and Consent Agenda
The Board approved the agenda and consent agenda which included approval of Regular Board minutes from March 20, 2025, and Special Board Meeting Minutes, Joint Meeting with the Saints Foundation Board of March 27, 2025; acceptance of the treasurer’s report and personnel report items; Vice President contracts for fiscal year 2026; and the 2025 commencement update.
Service Agreement
The Board approved the service agreement with the Bass Group, Inc.
Purchase Approval
The Board approved the purchase of a Bariatric Manikin.
Strategic Planning Committee
The Board appointed Deborah Shelton-Yates to serve on the College’s Strategic Planning Committee.
Dual Credit Tuition & Fee Waivers
The Board approved the FY26 dual credit tuition and fee waivers outlined and these will be integrated into local early college/dual credit partnership agreements.
Administrative/Employee Related
The Board approved a listing of open positions reflected in the FY25 budget. Current vacancies include: Education Technology Coordinator; Nursing Simulation Coordinator & Student Success Coach; Administrative Assistant to the Dean of CTE; Data Reporting Specialist; Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Administrative Services, and part-time Driver Safety Support Specialist. The Board ratified the employment of part-time employees: Earnest Ford (Assistant Coach); Bree Hileman (Tutor & Testing Center Support); and Tyler Presser (Trainer, Truck Driving).
