The end of the semester is quickly approaching. Book Buybacks, Equipment returns, and Library returns will begin on Monday, July 27th. We will be buying books that are eligible for buybacks through Wednesday, July 29th. All book buybacks and electronic returns will occur on these selected days from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm.

As the summer semester is winding down and nearing completion, the College is needing everyone with equipment checked out (laptops, jetpacks, and graphing calculators) to return those items, including all power cables and wall plugs, during the book buyback days. Library items such as books, DVDs, microbiology lab manuals, and calculators are also being accepted by the bookstore during book buybacks. There are no overdue fines.

Buybacks and Equipment Returns will be conducted outside of the main entrance of the Ullin Campus, weather permitting. Students can park in the parking lot and walk to the main entrance door, or you can stay in your car and we can come to you.  You will need to complete the attached buyback form in order for your books to be processed. We will process the books and then determine your credit. And remember, all books must be returned with the buyback form that is attached to this email. Any books that are ineligible for buybacks (soiled, damaged, outdated) will be held for you at the bookstore where pickup arraignments can be made to return them to you.

During Buybacks, students will need to keep in mind that all social distancing practices must be practiced on the Shawnee Community College Campus. Students that exit their vehicle for buybacks will need to have a mask on at all times.

We are looking forward to seeing you again as the semester winds down!

From us at the Campus Bookstore and the Library, good luck with the rest of your semester.

  • 8-11 Week Courses: within the first 5 instructional days.

Consumables are not covered by any type of SCC Scholarship, Waiver, High Honors Escrow, etc. However, they are covered by Financial Aid. These are books or supplements required for the course that are not able to be brought back once used for refund or buyback.

Buybacks are conducted at the end of each semester during the week of finals.

The Bookstore will buy back books at the fair market value price to the point where appropriate inventory levels are met. After the Bookstore meets its anticipated needs, books may be purchased by a used book distributor at a wholesale price.

Book condition is a factor for both bookstore and wholesale buybacks.
Students need to bring their IDs to sell their books.
Scholarship books are also due back at this time.
