Shawnee Community College Begins Search For Next President

2:30 PM CT, November 20, 2019

The Shawnee Community College Board of Trustees will launch its search for the next President of the College this week. The Board has selected a search committee representing cross-sections of Community College District 531. The Search Committee will begin their work with an organizational meeting at the College on Thursday, November 21.

College trustees Steve Heisner and Andrea Witthoft are members of the Search Committee. Faculty and members of the college administration and staff, as well as representative district school superintendents and community members at large, make up the remainder of the Search Committee, which Mr. Heisner chairs.

The Board expects to seek applications for the position of President beginning in December. The Search Committee will recommend a number of applicants to the Board, and the Board then will invite several candidates to interview at sites within the district. Once the interview process has been completed, and the Board has finalized its selection and made a hiring decision, a notice of that decision will be shared with the public.
