Shawnee Community College has started the 2024-2025 fiscal year by presenting a surplus budget to the Board of Trustees. The operating fund is at $13,880,253 and expenses are expected to be $13,837,674, with a surplus of $42,579.

The Shawnee Community College softball team and more than a dozen student-athletes are being recognized by the National Junior College Athletic Association for their performance in the classroom.

Starting July 1, 2023, the four extension centers at Shawnee Community College will have new names. Currently, the centers are named after the city they are located. The new name will include the county instead.
