Program Summary

The Associate of Applied Science in Accounting (ACC 2211) is a two-year curriculum, designed to provide the student with entry-level skills for employment as a bookkeeper or accounting technician.

Graduates of the Accounting Program will be able to:

  • Analyze financial and business information to support planning and decision-making. (Research & Information Literacy)
  • Assess  financial transactions throughout the accounting cycle for proper record.  (Problem-Solving)
  • Exhibit ethical and objective standards of the Accountancy profession.  (Personal Growth & Responsibility)
  • Examine the current and emerging issues in accounting practice.  (Global & Cultural Awareness)
  • Articulate financial processes and current monetary position effectively to identified stakeholders.  (Communication)

Upon successful completion of the program, the student will have a basic knowledge of accounting as it pertains to payroll, taxes, accounts receivables, accounts payable, general accounting, sales, depreciation, and inventory.

Computerized accounting packages, such as QuickBooks and Peachtree, are incorporated into the curriculum.

This program has been identified as a TECH PREP program.
