SCC Board of Trustees Member Receives Service Recognition
The Pulaski-Alexander County NAACP Chapter honored Don Patton, SCC Board of Trustees Member/ICCTA Delegate, with the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Service Award. This award is for Don's 25 years of service to the SCC Board of Trustees.
The award was presented to Don on January 20, 2014 at the Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Breakfast at St. Raphael's Community Center in Mounds. Mr. Richard Grigsby, NAACP Chapter President presented this prestigious award to Mr. Don Patton.
Don stated "Being a trustee is very rewarding. We get the opportunity to set direction policy wise for the college. We deal with many critical issues around open access, education, and empowering students to become productive citizens. I hope that my presence on the board has added value to the critical issues facing our students and communities. MLK service award for 25 years on SCC's Board is icing on the cake." I am very humbled that Alexander/Pulaski Counties Branch NAACP acknowledged me."
