Shawnee Community College Alum Makes Appearance in NCAA Elite 8
Justin Leon finished his college basketball career leading the University of Florida Gators in 3-point percentage, averaging six points per game, grabbing 252 rebounds and an Elite 8 appearance in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament. However, the 6’8” forward didn’t immediately sign with the Gators following his high school career. Instead, Leon started his career at Shawnee Community College.
While attending Shawnee Community College, Leon quickly transformed from the once fresh out of high school basketball player with a tremendous amount of potential into an independent young man taking his future into his own hands. With hard work and determination, Leon transferred to the University of Florida in the fall of 2015 after completing two years at Shawnee Community College.
Since his NCAA Elite 8 appearance with the Florida Gators, Leon attended a National Basketball Association Combine in front of at least 10 NBA coaches, as well as interviewing with the Golden State Warriors and the Orlando Magic organizations.
