Shawnee Names New Vice President of Student and Administrative Services

Shawnee Community College

Jipaum Askew-Robinson has been named Vice President of Student and Administrative Services at Shawnee Community College. As a native of Atlanta, Georgia, she earned her Bachelor's degree from Georgia State University and her Masters of Business Administration from Florida A&M University.

Ms. Askew-Robinson's immediate past position was Director of the Cultural Diversity at West Kentucky Community and Technical College (WKCTC) in Paducah, Kentucky. Over the past 20 years, Ms. Askew-Robinson has held various management positions including MBA Director at Western Kentucky University, and Executive Director of the South Central Kentucky Minority Economic Development Council. Ms. Askew-Robinson's areas of expertise include post-secondary education, economic development, and small business development.

Volunteerism is a way of life for Ms. Askew-Robinson. She has served on several boards and numerous committees. In Paducah, Kentucky she continues to serve on the Paducah Housing Authority Board and the Urban Renewal Board, and in the past she has served on the McCracken County Career Endowment, the Oscar Cross Boys and Girls Club, and the Interracial Women's Group Executive Boards. She has also served as a member of Leadership Paducah, and a member of the Education Committee for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). In Bowling Green, Kentucky she served in several capacities such as advisor to the Mayor for the Westside Community, member of the Section 8 Housing Board, the Barren River Area Development District (BRADD), Workforce Investment Board, the Human Rights Commission, and the Enterprise Community Board. Additionally, she served as an instructor for the Warren County Drug Court and member of Leadership Bowling Green. Her standing/lifelong volunteer commitment is with Delta Sigma Theta, Inc.

Shawnee Community College is glad to have such a fine individual in our community to be a part of the SCC family. We welcome Jipaum Askew-Robinson to the Shawnee Community College family and we are very excited for the journey ahead with her.
